Fulton vs Inoue: Date, UK Start Time, TV Channel And Undercard
- P4P Top 3 And Former Undisputed Bantamweight Champion Naoya Inoue Moves Up In Weight Again
- In His First Fight At 122, Inoue Challenges The Unbeaten Unified World Champion Stephen Fulton
- Fulton vs Inoue Is One Of The Best Fights That Can Be Made Today And Could Crown A New P4P #1
USA’s Stephen Fulton will defend his unified super bantamweight championship against the P4P star, Japan’s Naoya Inoue at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan this Tuesday, July 25, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Fulton vs Inoue, an Ohashi promotion, is one of the best matchups that can be made in the sport. It’s undefeated vs undefeated, undisputed vs unified and the #1 super bantamweight vs the #1 bantamweight.
What is even more spectacular about the fight is that Inoue started at Light Flyweight just 10 years and 24 fights ago and now, having won titles in three different weight classes, he moves up to face the #1 122-pounder in his debut at the weight.
Inoue is a staple in the top 5, if not 3, of every boxing fan’s P4P list but a win here may propel him to the #1 spot – that is for four days at least until Terence Crawford and Errol Spence meet in a matchup years in the making on the Saturday in Vegas.
Fulton vs Inoue Undercard
Cuba’s double Olympic medallist Robeisy Ramirez (12-1, 7 KOs) defends his WBO Featherweight world title against Japan’s Satoshi Shimizu (11-1, 10 KOs) in the co-feature.
Ramirez claimed the vacant title with a convincing unanimous points win in April and makes the first defence against the 37-year-old Japanese southpaw.
Shimizu’s sole defeat is a sixth-round upset stoppage loss at the hands of Joe Noynay – a fight where he was losing every round and tasted the canvas twice in round 1.
Since then, Shimizu has rebuilt with three wins but goes into this fight a heavy underdog and isn’t expected to give Ramirez, who many regard as the leading 126-pounder, too many problems.
