In an interview, Eddie Hearn mocks awful mismatch, and eyes next opponent for Jack Catterall

Eddie Hearn MOCKS Awful Mismatch & Eyes Catterall’s Next Opponent

In a recent interview with IFL, Eddie Hearn comments on last night’s rematch between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall, and speaks on potential opponents for Catterall. Eddie Hearn mocks awful mismatch elsewhere in the interview.

Last night saw Josh Taylor fight Jack Catterall in a much-anticipated rematch, following what many saw as a robbery two years ago when the pair first clashed and Taylor was awarded the win. Last night’s outcome saw justice given to ‘El Gato’, with his eyes now set on world titles.

Hearn commented on some potential next opponents for the Chorley man, with names like Subriel Matias, who fights Liam Paro on June 15th, Devin Haney, who is due to fight Sandor Martin, and Teofimo Lopez, who is scheduled to fight Steve Claggett, being the front-runners.

Eddie Hearn MOCKS Awful Mismatch

In the interview, Hearn comments on the match-up between Teofimo Lopez and Steve Claggett.

Lopez, now 20-1 has wins over Josh Taylor, Sandor Martin, and Vasyl Lomachenko, with his only loss coming after an upset decision against George Kambosos Jr.

Claggett, on the other hand, sits at a record of 38-7, with losses to below-world-level names like Yves Ulysse Jr and Danny O’Connor.

When asked what he thought of the fight, Hearn said, ‘No disrespect to Steve Claggett, he’s a tough guy, but what an awful mismatch.’

It is unclear yet who Catterall will face, with another option being a trilogy against his Scottish rival as the pair are now 1-1, (despite many fans suggesting it’s Catterall 2-0).
