EXCLUSIVE: Derek Chisora vs Dave Allen In Discussions Reveals Promoter Dennis Hobson

– Fan Favourites Derek Chisora And Dave Allen In ‘Tentative Discussions’ For All-British Heavyweight Clash

– Promoter Dennis Hobson Believes The Fight Can Land On A Fightzone PPV

Sheffield-based veteran promoter Dennis Hobson, who represents Dave Allen, has exclusively revealed to NoSmokeSport.com that ‘tentative discussions’ are underway with Derek Chisora‘s team to make a fight between the pair next.

Hobson has indicated that matching Chisora (33-13, 23 KOs) and ‘The White Rhino’ (21-5-2, 18 KOs) has been ‘touted a little bit’ with a potential business model in mind to facilitate the fight.

Fight Academy, a company founded by the Sheffield businessman, streams their cards on the streaming service Fightzone, a platform which is now available for free. To maximise exposure, a deal with the BBC was recently announced which would allow their cards to also be seen on BBC’s on-demand service ‘iPlayer’.

“The Flexibility of Fightzone allows us to do a pay-per-view event,” Hobson told NoSmokeSport.

“We could build that up and do the PPV on Fightzone.”

The finances for Chisora vs Allen would only be achievable via a PPV on Fightzone and by sharing build-up content and the like with bigger platforms, Hobson believes the necessary buys to fund the show can be reached through the additional reach.

Chisora was victim to a one-sided beating from Tyson Fury last December which resulted in him suffering a 10th-round TKO loss, only the fourth stoppage defeat of his 15-year plus career, to a decade-long rival. Despite clearly being on a steep decline, Chisora intends to continue his boxing career and looks to return to the ring at some point in 2023.

Allen announced his retirement from the ring in late 2020 but it was short-lived and he returned in Aug 2021 winning by second-round TKO. The ‘Doncaster De La Hoya’ has struggled to land another significant fight and kept busy with two additional bouts in early 2022 and earlier this year, looking for another big opportunity.
