Senior Elite ABA champion Cameron Vuong exclusively spoke to NoSmokeSport.com about signing an advisory deal with Sam Jones and a promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, both in a matter of days. Vuong was a highly sought-after amateur and will turn professional later this year, live on DAZN.

“I was 10 years old when I first got into boxing. My dad took me to the boxing gym and I just fell in love with it and never looked back.

Went into the senior ABA’s, had six fights, won every fight, and then I went into the Tri-nations and won them. I’ve had a massive year.

I spoke to my family, my friends, and my coaches – we decided the best move going forward was to turn professional

Messaged Sam on a Wednesday night, met him on Friday, and signed with Matchroom the next Tuesday. He delivered for us straight away.

Matchroom is the biggest platform in the world. It’s been my boyhood dream since I was 10 years old, I told my friends, and teachers – one day I’ll sign with Matchroom.

Birtley is flying. We’re all moving in the same direction. North East boxing at the minute is doing really well.

I’ll Debut late August/early Sep. 2/3 fights this year, and 5 fights in my first year as a professional.

I’m not the finished article yet, I know I’ve got a lot of learning to do.

I want to go, British, Commonwealth European, and then world titles.”
