Boxing Betting Tips Ahead Of A LIMITED Selection Of Fights

With a relatively quiet weekend of action this week, I’ve searched high and low through the betting markets to find some value.

Jordy Weiss vs Jon Miguez

Starting off in France, Jordan Weiss faces Jon Miguez for the vacant EBU welterweight title. Both having unbeaten records going into the bout, and with both men having championship experience, both having won EU titles before, I believe this is extremely well-matched.

However, I feel that the deciding factor will be the power difference between the two. Whilst Miguez has somewhat respectable power, having 8 kos in his 17 wins, Weiss only has 3 in 30. Therefore I believe Jon Miguez to win at 11/8 is the value bet in the contest.

Zepeda vs Arboleda Card

Moving over to the Golden Boy card in Texas, in the main event William Zepeda faces Jaime Arboleda in what is a complete mismatch. I see Zepeda running through Arboleda quickly in what will be a very tough night for the overmatched Arboleda, who is really a super featherweight. Zepeda in rounds 1-6 at 4/9 is my play.

Also on the card in Texas, Diego De La Hoya faces Victor Morales in what is being billed as a 50/50 match. Although I expect this to be competitive, I believe the higher level of competition that De La Hoya has faced will see him through to a points win, priced at 8/5.

My last tip of the week comes in the form of David Stevens. The exciting super middleweight prospect is having another learning fight on this card, and I believe he will get Marco Periban out of there. Periban has some respectable names on his ledger including Joshua Buatsi and Padraig McCrory, however, he has been stopped by both, and I see this bout going the same way. David Stevens to win by stoppage at ½ is my bet.

Final selections

  • Jon Miguez win 11/8
  • Zepeda 1-6 4/9
  • De La Hoya on points 8/5
  • David Stevens by stoppage 1/2
