Boxing Betting Tips – Joyce vs Zhang, Bentley vs Smith And MORE, Where’s The Value In This Weekend’s Fights?
Boxing Betting Tips Ahead Of A Big Card From London And A Little-Known Show From Japan
With a stacked card in London on Saturday, and a very intriguing card from Tokyo on Sunday, this weekend seems to have a lot of value in its betting markets. I have 5 selections for this week ranging across both cards.
Starting on the Main Event in London’s Copper Box Arena, BT Sport have a heavyweight blockbuster, as Joe Joyce defends his WBO Interim title against Zhilei Zhang of China. Looking at Joyce this week he looks a lot leaner than his previous outing against Joe Parker in September last year. This along with Zhang’s stamina issues I belive points towards a late Joyce stoppage, with Joyce 9-12 being my play in the contest at 9/4
Also on the card Denzel Bentley defends his British Middleweight title against Keiran Smith. Smith is tall and long for Middleweight and I believe it will take a few rounds for Bentley to work him out. After he does though I believe Smith is in trouble as Bentley possesses huge amounts of knock out power, with 14 of his 17 wins coming by stoppage. Bentley 7-12 at 15/8 is my bet in this bout.
Moving back to heavyweight, Moses Itauma steps up to 6 rounds against Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko. Dovbyschenko although tough, having never been stopped, has never been in with someone on the level of Itauma, and I believe under 4.5 rounds at ⅚ is a great price.
Moving to Japan now, and in the chief support Yudai Shigeoka challenges Wilfredo Mendez for the vacant WBC Interim Minimumweight title. I believe Shigeoka who has a very impressive KO ratio will overcome Mendez, (who was stopped recently against Masataka Taniguchi) and break him down to score a stoppage win. Yudai Shigeoka by stoppage at ⅚ is the bet to make.
Now onto my best bet of the week. Ginjiro Shigeoka (Yudai’s younger brother) takes on Rene Cuarto for the IBF Interim Minimumweight title. I believe Ginjiro will have way too much for Cuarto, having been very unlucky last time out against Daniel Valladares who seemingly quit after 3 rounds, only for the bout to be called a no contest. Valladares holds a win over Cuarto, so Ginjiro should seemingly be out of his league. Ginjiro Shigeoka by stoppage at 15/8 is my best bet of the week.
Final selection:
- Joyce 9-12 9/4
- Bentley 7-12 15/8
- Itauma Dovbyshchenko under 4.5 ⅚
- Yudai Shigeoka by stoppage ⅚
- Ginjiro Shigeoka by stoppage 15/8 BEST BET
