The vacant WBC Bridgerweight title is on the line as undefeated big-punching pair Alen Babic (11-0, 10KOs) and Lukasz Rozanski (14-0, 13KOs) meet this Saturday, April 22 at the G2A Arena, Jasionka 953, Rzeszow, Poland live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and TVP Sport in Poland.

The event will be a KnockOut Promotions lead promotion after Polish-based Andrew Wasilewski ($425,000) outbid Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing ($350,000) for the promotional rights to the fight earlier this year.

10% of the total bid will be reserved for the winner who will pocket $233,750 whilst the loser will take home $191,250. The victor must also commit to two mandatory fights, as is the norm for any vacant WBC title fight. One of those mandatories will be decided in the May 13 contest between South Africa’s Kevin Lerena and Belgium’s Ryad Merhy.

Babic outpointed Poland’s Adam Balski (16-1) last May, to become the mandatory challenger for the WBC World Bridgerweight Title. Rozanski has notable wins over Artur Szpilka and Izuagbe Ugonoh both at heavyweight and both by stoppage, with the Szpilka contest ending inside a round.

Rozanski has been out of the ring for 23 months whilst Babic has not entered the squared circle for 11 months.

The Croatian and the Polishmen are unbeaten in a combined 25 contests with 23 of them ending inside the distance. Whilst you can criticise the necessity of the bridgerweight division, there can be no denying that Babic vs Rozanski on paper at least is a 50-50, explosive, unpredictable contest which will be ‘must-see TV’.

A 9-fight card which features the European cruiserweight title, Heavyweight contender Martin Bakole and more is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm BST (12:00 pm ET, 9:00 am PT) on the TVP Sport website with the main card a little while later at 7:00 pm BST (2:00 pm ET, 11:00 am PT) on Sky Sports Action in the UK.
