  • Fight News Is Expected To Be Confirmed Soon For Former Champ Anthony Joshua
  • Joshua Is Currently Training And Sparring At The Ben Davison Performance Centre
  • AJ Is Working With The Former Tyson Fury Coach As His Training Situation Remains Unclear

An announcement for Anthony Joshua‘s next fight is expected to be made soon.

The former unified Heavyweight champion could return to the ring on December 23 in Abu Dhabi, potentially on the Conor Benn-Chris Eubank Jr undercard, before heading into a major fight next year.

Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) has long been in discussions to face another former Heavyweight titleist in American puncher Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs).

Negotiations are understood to have stalled as Saudi Arabia, who was expected to host the bout in return for a massive site fee, is no longer interested in staging the fight for December/January.

The pair are now rumoured to be pursuing other Middle East site fees including the UAE and Qatar as well as exploring more traditional venues such as Las Vegas for their mega fight.

Anthony Joshua Training With Ben Davison

In the meantime, as AJ’s next step remains clear, the 33-year-old is training with former Tyson Fury coach Ben Davison.

AJ was pictured in the aftermath of a spar with undefeated British Heavyweight Courtney Bennett (4-0) at the Ben Davison Performance Centre.

Davison, when asked about his link-up with Joshua, has remained tightlipped about the situation and almost refused to talk about it in interviews.

Although an official announcement hasn’t been made, this has led to rumours that Joshua will announce Ben Davison as his new coach for his next fight and leave American trainer Derrick James.

As it stands currently though, Anthony Joshua is expected to return to Texas for his next camp when a fight announcement is made.
