Haney vs Garcia

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia‘s April 20 DAZN PPV clash will have the WBC super lightweight title on the line after the WBC mandatory Sandor Martin is in the process of agreeing a step-aside so the fight can happen with Martin getting the winner.

It has also now been confirmed that Haney vs Garcia will take place at New York’s Barclays Center – contrary to the original plan which was to stage the fight in Las Vegas.

The pair will meet at launch press conferences next Tuesday and Thursday in New York and Los Angeles to promote the bout, promoters Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya will also be present.

Estrada vs Bam Rodriguez

Talks to match super flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada with unified flyweight titleist Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez are reportedly progressing well according to ESPN MX.

Bam-Estrada would be one of the best fights that could be made in boxing and is being targeted to headline a Matchroom/DAZN show in June/July.

Estrada was in talks to face Kazuto Ioka but a deal could not be reached so Ioka will have to defend against his mandatory, Scrappy Ramirez, instead.

Canelo’s Next Fight – PBC or Not?

PBC is reportedly willing to pay Canelo Alvarez a guarantee of around $35m (as contracted) to face Mexican Jaime Munguía on May 4 but is not willing to pay up for an expected bout with Jermall Charlo, according to ESPN MX.

If a Munguia fight cannot be made and there is no financial guarantee for Álvarez, who signed for three fights with PBC and has only had one, the undisputed champion would be allowed to fight with promoters/networks outside the PBC.
