Returning Talent Backstage At Tonight’s AEW Dynamite & More

AEW is returning to Daily’s Place tonight for AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida. This is AEW’s home base and was where they had their television shows through the pandemic. Now, they return home for a big homecoming episode of Dynamite. But, their return to the building may not be the only return going down.

AEW Dynamite Return

PWInsider reported earlier today that the Young Bucks, who’ve been off TV for several weeks are backstage at tonight’s show. Fightful Select then confirmed PWInsider’s report that Young Bucks are at Daily’s Place and noted that they were told there are several people who haven’t been around in a while who also wanted to be on scene for Daily’s Place. It’s unclear as of now if the Bucks or any possible returning talent will be on Dynamite, but they are backstage.

Another name that’s been making the rounds is a possible debut tonight for Mercedes Monè in AEW, but Fightful Select reports they have not heard anything to indicate that Mercedes Mone will be appearing tonight, though it was previously discussed. Despite the rumors, Mercede whereabouts have been kept very secretive and it’s basically a waiting game as to where and when she will show up next.

On top of that, Fightful Select also reports that there was discussion of debuting the new AEW World Championship title belt tonight in Jacksonville. There are several cosmetic changes that were made to the title belt, including side plates. We saw Clemson Tigers college football team receive a AEW Championship for their 2023 Taxslayer Gator Bowl win, and the title did have some unique Clemson Tiger side plates that could be reminiscent of what we may see with a new AEW Championship belt. Custom sideplates for each champion could be in the works.

Lastly, Tony Khan himself, owner of AEW, got into a war of words on twitter after taking a shot at WWE’s booking of Jinder Mahal last night. Fightful also reported that  the Tony Khan tweets have been brought up among some we’ve spoken to in Jacksonville, but they claim it wasn’t a heavy topic of discussion as much as it was last night. AEW is looking to have a big homecoming show tonight and maybe some surprises will arise. AEW Dynamite kicks off on TBS at 8PM ET.
