WWE’s Bray Wyatt Tragically Passes Away At Age 36

Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, has tragically passed away at the age of 36 on Thursday afternoon.

The news was originally broken by Triple H, who made a post on X saying that he received a call from Mike Rotunda, father of Windham, exclaiming that his son had unexpectedly passed away.

Life And Career Of Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt started his WWE career in WWE’s developmental company FCW, before moving to NXT as Husky Harris. After a stint on the WWE main roster as apart of Nexus, Windham went back down to NXT to develop his character into what we now know as Bray Wyatt. Bray teamed with Erick Rowan and the late Luke Harper to form ‘The Wyatt Family’, who debuted together on Monday Night RAW in 2013.

Since then, Bray Wyatt went on to transform his character from a creepy backwoods lunatic to a terrorizing monster known as “The Fiend”. Throughout his career, Bray Wyatt won many championships including FCW Tag Team Champions with his brother, Bo. WWE Tag Team Champions with Randy Orton and Matt Hardy, as well as WWE Universal Champion and WWE World Champion.

Bray Wyatt was known as one of the most creative characters in WWE history, morphing himself into multiple iterations of himself, and bringing the fans The Fiend, FireFly Fun Houde, Uncle Howdy and many puppets in his FunHouse along the way. During the pandemic, Bray Wyatt and John Cena battled in a bow iconic FireFly FunHouse Match, which was unlike anything we’ve ever seen in WWE before, and entertained millions during an empty WrestleMania.

Despite being depicted as a monster on television, Windham Rotunda was known as a sweetheart behind the scenes, to fans and co-workers alike. Many Pro-Wrestlers from around the world are sharing their positive experiences Windham, and many sharing messages of him being a kind soul behind the scenes.

Bray Wyatt is a father, brother, son and husband, and we send our condolences to his family, friends and fans. One of the most iconic characters to step foot in a WWE ring to grace the fans with his creativity and outstanding character work. Rest In Peace Windham Rotunda, AKA Bray Wyatt. You’ll be dearly missed.
