Ring Of Honor Results: July 6, 2023
Ring Of Honor is back for the nineteenth episode on HonorClub. Tonight’s show is kicking off with Gringo Loco taking on Komander. Plus, a huge six man mayhem match, women’s champion Athena in action and a big trios main event between the Kingdom and the Infantry that’s been boiling over for weeks.
For weeks we’ve seen The Kingdom and The Infantry. But recently, The Infantry brought in Trish Adora in order to take care of Maria Kanellis, who’s with the Kingdom. Yet, right before the match, Maria revealed she was unable to compete because she was not cleared. So, they had a replacement. The replacement was none other than Leyla Hirsch, who’s been on the shelf with a knee injury for nearly a year.
Mike Bennett and Shawn Dean kick off the match with a chop battle, as Dean got the best of it. Carlie Bravo was then tagged in and he was taking it to Mike Bennett. Quick tags in and out for the Infantry until Bennet got away and Matt Taven came into the match for The Kingdom.
It was clear that The Infantry had the Kingdoms number here, so Taven tagged in Leyla Hirsch, which prompted Trish Adora to come in, and the women went at it. Trish had the best of the returning Hirsch at first, but Leyla started to fight back and sent Trish flying with a German Suplex.
Leyla was working over the right arm of Trish with submission attempts and even throwing her shoulder first into the turnbuckles. But, Trish eventually broke free and got a tag to Carlie Bravo, which also brought in Mike Bennett, and the Infantry was back in control.
Things started to break down and all six competitors were in the ring at once with a big brawl, that saw the women become legal in the match as the men took each other out with a series of dives to the outside. Adora tried to lock in a Kimura arm lock, but Maria Kanellis, who was ringside, jumped up to distract Trish, allowing Leyla to get control and lock in a arm bar of her own, causing Adora to tap out.
The Kingdom stand tall with Leyla Hirsch to end the show, all thanks to Maria Kanellis. Leyla then walked out on the team. She then had an interview backstage where she said The Kingdom needed someone to get the job done, and she did it. And good luck to anyone else that stands in her way.
