Asuka is set to make her return to NXT on October 10, and she will be in a match against Roxanne Perez. This was confirmed by Kiana James in a backstage segment.
Perez was in a triple threat match on the October 3 NXT for an opportunity against Lynch but was attacked by James. After effectively costing her the title shot, James simply set up the match for Perez against Asuka.
Asuka is the longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion of all time, having held the title for 510 days, and is in the conversation for the best champions the NXT ever witnessed. Asuka is set to compete in a triple-threat match of her own on Saturday, October 7 at Fastlane. She will be in competition against the champion, Iyo Sky, and fellow title challenger, Charlotte Flair.
Following that, she will make her way to Orlando, Florida to face a former champion in her own right, Roxanne Perez. At present, it appears this will be a once-off appearance for Asuka.
