Hikaru Shida vs. Willow Nightingale
AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida, successfully retained her title against Abadon on the October 28 edition of Collision. Ahead of the November 1 Dynamite episode, it has been confirmed who will challenge for the championship next.
Willow Nightingale is the 2023 Owen Hart Women’s Cup winner, and she has been on an impressive run in 2023. Nightingale gets to challenge Shida for the championship on November 1st in a first-time match-up.
Shida is the longest-reigning AEW Women’s Champion of all time holding the title for 372 days in her first reign. Though still less than a month into her current reign with the championship, Shida remains a fighting champion consistently defending the title, and she now does so against a top contender.
Nightingale was the inaugural STRONG Women’s Champion (for NJPW) and, for all her efforts and hard work, she was ranked number eight in the 2023 PWI Women’s 250. With the Owen Hart Women’s Cup in her possession, she now takes a shot at the top gold in the AEW women’s division.
