Erin Blanchfield Improves To 5-0 In The UFC With Impressive Round 2 Finish Of Jessica Andrade And Calls for a Title Shot

In the main event of UFC Vegas 69 at the UFC Apex, 22-year-old Erin Blanchfield continued her UFC success with a round 2 rear-naked choke against former champion Jessica Andrade. In the first round, despite not being able to get the fight to the ground, Blanchfield was finding success of her own on the feet against one of the most powerful strikers in women’s MMA. Blanchfield landed some impressive combinations while not backing down from Andrade’s power.

In round 2 Blanchfield was able to get the fight on the ground, where she quickly was able to pass the guard of Andrade. It was a matter of time once Blanchfield was on the back of Andrade and she was able to lock in a rear-naked choke at 1 minute 37 seconds of round 2.

Erin Blanchfield improves to 11-1 (5-0 UFC) while Jessica Andrade falls to 24-10 (15-8 UFC). In her post-fight interview in the octagon, Blanchfield called for a title shot versus the winner of the fight against Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexis Grasso. That fight will be taking place on UFC 285 on March 4th.
