Luke Campbell Tempted To Return To Boxing If An Offer Is Made

Former Olympic Gold Medallist and World Title contender Luke Campbell has hinted at a potential comeback to the boxing ring in his recent interview with NoSmokeSport, but only if the right offer comes his way. Campbell has not participated in a competitive fight since his round 7 loss to Ryan Garcia in January 2021, a bout in which he held his ground until a decisive body shot from Garcia ended the contest.

Before the Garcia fight, Campbell had seen a period of inactivity, with his previous fight being against Vasyl Lomachenko in August 2019. However, his recent appearance in Bournemouth supporting friend and former campmate Chris Billam-Smith in his fight against Lawrence Okolie might suggest a spark of interest to return to the sport he evidently still has a passion for, and can’t step away from.

Luke Campbell Tempted For Return To Boxing

Being surrounded by the excitement of the boxing world and key industry figures may be a factor inspiring Campbell to contemplate a return. A question now looms: will an enticing offer come his way? Boxxer could potentially be the one to lure the former champion back into the ring.

As Luke Campbell cheers on Billam-Smith this weekend, he’ll be in proximity to the right people to discuss a potential comeback. The question is, what would his fans, and the wider boxing community think of a Campbell comeback? At the age of 35, and with 2 back to back losses when he last competed may prove too much of a difficult hill to climb.
