Dana White Blasts Executive Over WWE/UFC Fan Comments
As everyone knows by now, WWE and UFC both merged under the Endeavor umbrella Tuesday as “TKO”. This merger will help expand both companies revenue and hopefully eyes on their products. But, UFC president Dana White doesn’t think there will be much fan crossover and even blasted an executive who does.
Dana White Blasts Executive
Following the merger, executive VP Lawrence Epstein made comments regarding the merge and said; “Where we want to get is where every UFC fan is a WWE fan and every WWE fan is a UFC fan,” While speaking at a post show media conference on Tuesday, Dana White responded to Lawrence’s comments and completely disagrees. “Lawrence, I love ya, one of the dumbest statements of all-time,” Dana said before continuing; “I don’t know why he said that — I don’t even know what to say to that, no, there’s some crossover. Some people like WWE, some people like UFC, some people like both. I don’t think there’s ever going to be a day where we turn every UFC fan into a WWE fan, or every WWE fan [into a UFC fan]. What’s beautiful about the synergy between these two fan bases is they are very, completely opposite. There’s very little crossover. Maybe he was misquoted. I hope that’s the case, because I could not disagree with him more.”
While many fans agree with Dana’s assessment, It’s clear that TKO holds hope that they can still get some more crossover, with WWE executive Nick Khan even advising UFC fighters to jump over to WWE once their careers are done.
