Hasim Rahman Jr Set To Face Former UFC Heavyweight Contender Jimi Manuwa On Misfits 008 Huge Heavyweight Clash
Hasim Rahman Jr‘s long-awaited return to the ring on Misfits Boxing is finalised and NoSmokeSport.com has learnt that it will be against the former UFC heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa.
Per a source with direct knowledge of the fight, it is expected to take place on the upcoming Misfits 008 card in Nashville, Tennessee, which was originally set for June 10 but is likely to move now, potentially to July 8.
Hasim Rahman Jr’s Career In Influencer Boxing So Far
Rahman Jr is mainly known in the world of Influencer boxing for being a replacement opponent for Jake Paul. His fight with Paul was announced for Aug 6 last year after the original Tommy Fury fight for Jake fell through due to Fury’s inability to enter the US; an exclusive first reported by NoSmokeBoxing.
The fight against Hasim was eventually called off after a dispute over the weights in the contract and other issues behind the scenes.
The American Heavyweight had an exciting fight on Misfits 003 with Greg Hardy where although he lost via unanimous decision, the fight was regarded by many as one of the best that has been on Misfits Boxing. Both showed great heart and determination, especially Hasim, after being dropped in the second round by Greg Hady but still fighting until the last round.
Who is Jimi Manuwa?
Jimi Manuwa is a now retired MMA fighter who is mostly known for his UFC career in which he never won a title but had some incredible fights in winning performance and fight of the night multiple times. With stunning stoppages and wars, Manuwa is guaranteed to bring action against Hasim and won’t back down against a challenge like Rahman Jr in the boxing ring.
When is Misfits 008?
After originally being planned to be on June 10th in Nashville Tennessee, it has now been confirmed by Mams Taylor via a Twitter space that the original date of June 10th is no longer the planned date for Misfits 008. The location has not been changed as far as we know.
Who is fighting on Misfits 008?
There have been many rumoured fights that could land on the 008 card. There were some rumours that the card itself would be the return of Deen the Great against Adam Saleh, as well as other whispers that it would be the much-anticipated rematch of Deen the Great and Walid Sharks. But these have quickly gone quiet and are most likely not true.
It is probable though that previous fighters that have fought on the USA Misfits Boxing shows such as Ice Poseidon, Brandon Buckingham, Paul Bamba and Uncle Pizza could make an appearance in or around the ring on fight night.
