Tokkers Tips – Taylor vs Lopez, Munguia vs Derevyanchenko. Where’s the value in this weekends fights?
Boxing Betting Tips – With another stacked weekend of boxing, I’ve looked through the markets to find four bets that I think hold some value.
Starting on Friday, Mark Chamberlain defends his IBF European title against Italian Marvin Demollari. The Italian has never been stopped in his 4 losses and holds some level of ability, so will be difficult for Chamberlain to work out. This as well as Chamberlain’s last 3 fights going into the 2nd half, leads me to believe that Over 4.5 rounds at 8/11 is a good value bet.
On the Edwards vs Campos undercard, David Jamieson faces Cheavon Clarke in a British title eliminator. Jamieson is a tough competitor at the domestic level, having taken Mikael Lawal 8 rounds in a very tough fight last year. As well as Clarke’s sub-par outing against Israel Duffus, going 10 rounds. This points to the odds of 5/6 for the bout going over 6.5 rounds the pick for me.
Over in America, Jaime Munguia takes on Sergiy Derevyanchenko at super middleweight. I believe Munguia’s high output and threatening punch power will be too much for Derevyanchenko who fights at 168lbs for the first time. At 37 years of age, and having been through extremely tough fights against Danny Jacobs, Genaddiy Golovkin, and Jermall Charlo, I believe Munguia will be able to stop him late. Munguia rounds 7-12 at 5/2 is my recommendation.
In the biggest fight of the weekend in New York City, Josh Taylor defends his WBO title against Teofimo Lopez. I believe Taylor is simply a more well-rounded fighter than Lopez and will likely win the fight. I do not see Lopez being stopped, however, I do see him being Knocked Down, mainly due to a balance issue. So my bet for the contest is for Josh Taylor to score 1+ Knockdown and to win on points available at 7/1
Final Tip Selections:
- Chamberlain Demollari over 4.5 rounds – 8/11
- Jamieson Clarke over 6.5 rounds – 5/6
- Munguia rounds 7-12 – 5/2
- Josh Taylor to score 1+ Knockdown and to win on points – 7/1
