Tokkers’ Tips – Franklin, Martin, Kelly

Another week in boxing is upon us, and with fights in America and the UK I’ve scouted the betting markets for some bets that I think are good value. With Josh Kelly, Frank Martin, and Jermaine Franklin all in action, it’s not a weekend to be missed.

Starting in Newcastle, Josh Kelly returns for the first time since a career beat performance against Troy Williamson last year. In what should be a showcase against Argentina’s Gabriel Corzo, I belive this is set up for Kelly to look great. With Corzo’s 3 stoppage wins, I believe Kelly will be more aggressive in this bout. And with the likelihood of a generous stoppage (it is Britain after all) Kelly to win by stoppage at ⅘ is my play for the contest.

Over in the States, Frank Martin headlines against Artem Harutunyan. Harutunyan, although having an unbeaten record is extremely limited, having been struggling to get past fringe European level opposition. Martin is coming off a career best performance against Rivera, and I believe he will win quite comfortably. Martin to win in rounds 7-12 at 11/10 is good value in my opinion

Jermaine Franklin returns in America also, against unbeaten Mexican Isaac Munoz. Munoz has had an impressive amateur career, competing in the WSB. And has never really been troubled as a pro. With Franklin taking this fight on short notice, and not really having devastating power, I believe Franklin on points at 11/8 is a good bet.

Final selections:

  • Kelly to win by stoppage at ⅘
  • Martin to win in rounds 7-12 at 11/10
  • Franklin on points at 11/8
