Tokkers’ Tips – Canelo vs Charlo, Opetaia

With Canelo vs Charlo, Jai Opetaia, and many more in action, there’s plenty of value in the betting markets this weekend. I’ve picked out my best bets for this week’s edition of Tokkers’ Tips.

In the biggest fight of the weekend, Saul Alvarez defends his undisputed 168lbs title against Jermell Charlo. I see a very close competitive fight in this one, with both men having success. I can’t see either man being stopped in this one however. So my play is Alvarez vs Charlo to go the distance at 4/9.

On the undercard in Vegas. Jesus Ramos takes a step up against perennial contender Erickson Lubin. I believe Ramos will be able to grind Lubin down with his awkward size and southpaw volume punching. My bet for the contest is Ramos to win in rounds 7-12 at 13/8

Also on the undercard in Vegas. I can see an upset victory for Mario Barrios against former champion Yordenis Ugas. I think a mixture of a long lay off for Ugas, with the style of Barrios being all wrong for him will see Barrios win the fight. There’s enough value in the straight money line for market for this one though, so my play is Barrios to win at 2/1

In the main event in London I believe we have the best value bet of the weekend. Jai Opetaia is simply levels above Jordan Thompson who hasn’t really beaten anyone above British level (and not exactly looked convincing in doing so). I see Opetaia being dominant and winning via stoppage. So my play is Opetaia stoppage at 10/11
