Tokkers’ Tips: Benavidez vs Andrade, Cameron vs Taylor

With Katie Taylor, David Benavidez, Subriel Matias and Hector Garcia all in action, this weekend is set to be another huge betting week, and I’ve scouted the markets for bets that I believe are great value.

Starting in Dublin. Katie Taylor rematches Chantelle Cameron for the undisputed 140lbs title. I simply see this being the same as the first fight, with Cameron being too big, too strong, and too active for Taylor to overcome. My bet for the contest is Chantelle Cameron by decision at 10/11

Over to Vegas now and we have a bumper night of action from Nevada, with 2 world title contests and multiple current and former world champions in action. Starting on the preliminary portion of the card, I believe Muhammadkhuja

Yaqubov will have a little too much for Pablo Vicente in their WBC 130lbs title eliminator. My bet for the contest is

Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov by decision at 9/4

Onto the main card, I see Lamont Roach’s slick boxing being too much for Hector Garcia in their WBA Super Featherweight title contest. I believe Garcia will struggle to make the weight after a lightweight bout in January and it will show in his performance. My bet for the contest is Lamont Roach by decision at 7/2

Also on the main card Subriel Matias makes his first defence of his IBF 140lbs title against hard hitting southpaw Shohjahon Ergashev. I believe Matias is vulnerable, and with Ergashev’s front foot pressure style I believe he has all the tools to dismantle the Puerto Rican, who has been badly hurt against Petros Ananyan in the past. My play for the contest is Shohjahon Ergashev via KO/TKO/DQ at 6/1

Onto the main event of the card. David Benavidez faces off against Demetrius Andrade in a battle of unbeaten former world champions. I see Andrade starting well in the contest however, similarly to the Caleb Plant bout, I see Benavidez taking over in the 2nd half and winning a competitive but clear decision. My play for the contest is David Benavidez by decision at 7/5

Final selections:

  • Chantelle Cameron by decision at 10/11
  • Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov by decision at 9/4
  • Lamont Roach by decision at 7/2
  • Shohjahon Ergashev via KO/TKO/DQ at 6/1
  • David Benavidez by decision at 7/5
