10-0 Prospect Khaleel Majid Signs With Sam Jones

Khaleel Majid Adds Sam Jones To His Team, Targets Deal With Big TV Promoter

Bolton-based super lightweight prospect Khaleel Majid (10-0, 3 KOs) has added former S-Jam founder Sam Jones to his team as an advisor while he hunts for a major, TV-backed promoter.

After his recent departure from Probellum, Jones will be advising fighters in his own right and has also announced the signings of Jack Catterall (27-1), who inked with Matchroom today, and 18-year-old Muhammad Ali (1-0).

With only three knockouts in his ten career wins, you wouldn’t be blamed for assuming Majid wasn’t a big puncher but he has recorded stoppage wins over Naeem Ali and Jamie Quinn in his last three contests, both of whom are near-impossible to beat inside the distance and doing so is a clear sign of quality and power.

The 25-year-old has fought just ten times in over four years due to the pandemic and injuries and now looks to build some momentum for his career as he enters the next stage which will undoubtedly involve title fights.

‘Major’ is a big ticket seller in the Manchester/Bolton area and claims to sell over 600 tickets out of his hands. Adding that to his talent, it shouldn’t be too difficult for him to line up with a TV promoter, especially with the vast opportunities available in British boxing at this time.

Majid told Ring IQ TV that he believes he has ‘served his apprentice’, in that he has fought on small-hall shows his whole career thus far and now should be on the bigger cards. The 140-pounder was offered two TV slots but had to turn down both due to religious commitments to Ramadan, and will hope these opportunities arise again later this year.
