Eddie Hearn has brought two major Heavyweight fights to Saudi Arabia, Andy Ruiz 2 and Oleksandr Usyk 2, in 2019 and 2022.
Hearn did those fights with ‘Skills Challenge. but it appears the control of bringing sporting events to Saudi has now changed to the ‘General Entertainment Authority’
WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury joked in the week that Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn were frozen out of the big fights as rivals Queensberry/TR are making fights in Saudi.
‘But, I told them in December, this is the final opportunity you guys are ever going to get to fight me so take it today or don’t. And they didn’t. So, they’re out in the cold. Frozen.’
Eddie Hearn Responds To Tyson Fury
“If you want to call out before that fight ‘Haha Eddie Hearn and AJ is out frozen’, I’m gonna turn around and go ‘Haha you’ve just lost to a bloke that’s never had a fight before’.”
Fury’s decision win over Ngannou was controversial with the majority of the public agreeing he was lucky to get the nod on the night. The Brit was as much as a 1/12 favourite to beat the MMA star.
“So, you can’t have it every way. You want to give me a load of stick? No problem. I’ll soak it up”
“When have you ever seen me turn down an interview or a press conference? Ask me anything you want.”
Hearn criticises Fury for allegedly refusing to do the post-fight conference on Saturday night in Saudi. The conference was cancelled last-minute with the exact reason unknown.
“You can abuse me all day long, couldn’t give a f**k, but don’t not expect it back when things don’t go your way.”
“I’m telling you and I say it with a big chest and all my heart and now all my brain, Anthony Joshua beats Tyson Fury every day of the week, he knocks him spark out.”
