Boxing Betting Tips Ahead Of A HUGE Weekend Of Fights
With another stacked weekend of boxing, with plenty of value to be found in the betting markets, I’ve picked out six selections that I believe could be winners.
Over in Poland on the card shown on Sky, Alen Babic fights Lukasz Rozanski. Although both men hit hard, I believe the fight will go into the 2nd half. Therefore I believe Over 4.5 rounds at evens is the play to make.
Moving to the DAZN show in Cardiff, I see Gavin Gwynne winning against Craig Woodruff in their rematch. The first fight was scored a majority draw last September, however I believe that was possibly Woodruff’s best night, and was one of Gwynne’s worst. With Gwynne lacking punch power I see the result being Gwynne on points at 5/ 6.
Also in Cardiff, hard hitting Cruiserweight Jordan Thompson returns against English Champion Luke Watkins. Thompson will be looking to impress after a suspect performance against Vacil Ducar last time out. And I believe he will do just that. Watkins hasn’t really competed at any sort of level since his Two losses to Lawrence Okolie and Isaac Chamberlain and I believe he is past his peak. Bearing this in mind I see Thompson winning by stoppage available at 8/11, and its my best bet of the week.
In the main event in Cardiff. Shavkat Rakhimov defends his IBF Super Featherweight title against hometown favourite Joe Cordina. Cordina has been out for 10 since winning the title he was eventually stripped of against Kenichi Ogawa.
Despite winning the title in spectacular fashion, he hasn’t competed at anywhere near the level of Rakhimov who I believe is being very disrespected in the market, being as big as a 9/4 underdog in places. Rakhimov hits very hard for a super featherweight, with 14 stoppages in 17 wins, and has championship experience against the likes of Jojo Diaz, and Zelfa Barret. Add to this that Joe Cordina has never fought a southpaw as a professional and I believe Rakhimov by stoppage at 4/1 is an absolutely ludicrous price.
Moving over to Vegas, David Morell will fight Yamaguchi Falcao over 12 rounds. This, in all honesty, is a complete mismatch. Morell is simply levels above Falcao, and he should run through him. Morell 1-6 is 8/11 and even at odds on, it is absurd value.
In the main event in Vegas, Gervonta Davis fights Ryan Garcia in perhaps the biggest fight of the year. I see Garcia just being too big and too quick for Davis. Who has recently accepted losing a lot of early rounds in a pursuit to ‘download the data’ from his opponent’s. Therefore I believe the only way Davis can win is by stoppage. With this in mind, and Garcia at over 2/1 in place. I will be backing Garcia to win at 41/20.
- Babic Rozanski over 4.5 1/1
- Thompson by stoppage 8/11 BEST BET
- Gwynne points ⅚
- Rakhimov stoppage 4/1
- Morrell 1-6 8/11
- Garcia to win 41/20
